GIOVANNI TOFFANO

 

GIOVANNI  TOFFANO started playing recorder and ancient instruments with Pietro Verardo at the Conservatory of Music in Venice, Italy.
He graduated in recorder with Sergio Balestracci at the
Conservatory of Music in Padova, Italy.
He attended courses and seminars with
Frans Brüggen, René Clemencic, Marijke Miessen, Walter van Hauwe, Pedro Memelsdorff (recorder); Manfredo Zimmermann (method of teaching recorder); Willem Bremer (wind instruments of Renaissance); Francesco Luisi (Renaissance notation).
He also attended a course on the Kodály method at the summer University of Esztergom in Hungary.
He played in the main ancient music italian festivals, and gave tours in Europe, Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
He was the conductor of the Gruppo di Strumenti Antichi of Concentus Musicus Patavinus and of the Consort Veneto.
He has recorded with
Agorŕ, Bongiovanni, Dynamic, Rivoalto, Tactus, Velut Luna.
He
taught recorder at the Conservatory of Music in Bolzano, Castelfranco Veneto, Pescara, Trento, Vicenza and from 2003 to 2022 at the Conservatory of Music in Venice .
